The Best New Documentaries on Netflix Canada

Here’s a list of what I think are the best new docs currently available on Netflix Canada!

Cuba and The Camera Man

This doc has a lot of heart and was made over five decades, which is definitely part of its magic!

Abstract: The Art of Design

I will probably watch the first episode of this series for the rest of my life! I totally love it.

Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold

If writing is important to you, I think you’ll dig this, at times heartbreaking film.

Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond

A lot of Jim’s words in this film really made me think about life, meaning and happiness.

Which is what I’m looking for in a documentary!

Gaga: Five Foot Two

I had no idea Gaga lived with such intense chronic pain until this film.

Definitely an interesting glimpse into her life and struggles.

HEROIN(E)

The opioid epidemic is talked about all the time now, for good reason.

I think this film brings something fresh to the conversation as it illuminates how much of a difference three women can make in a community.

IRIS

This doc is a couple of years old but I still consider it new and it warms my heart! Iris is the perfect example of how vanity is bullshit but fashion can be a real passion.

Any documentary you think should be on this list, that isn’t?

Happy Netflixing!

Watch This on Netflix: “She’s Gotta Have It”

This new Netflix Original is a remake of Spike Lee’s first feature film and it is super dope! The soundtrack alone makes it well-worth watching.

Back in the 80s, Spike Lee couldn’t get a job one summer and he didn’t want to be bored so … he borrowed a friend’s camera and started filming. His first feature film was “She’s Gotta Have It” in 1986.

Now Netflix and Spike Lee have given us an opportunity to learn more about the characters from the original “She’s Gotta Have it” with this 10-episode series.

MARS is my favourite, obviously.

Looking for something to watch on Netflix when you’re stoned with your dad?

Here are my top recommendations of what to watch on Netflix with your dad …

When you’re stoned!

Can’t get stoned when your dad is around? …

Sorry to hear that.

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency

I love this show starring Frodo because it is fast-paced and super amusing! My dad thinks this show is a hoot too!

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Another great Netflix Original that I find hilarious and I’m pretty sure my dad does too!

Super Troopers

If you can get high around your dad, it is probably safe to say he will enjoy Super Troopers.

The Doors: When You’re Strange

Your dad probably smoked weed in the era this film takes viewers back to, making it a perfect film to view with him, when you’re both overly stoned.

Is there something on Netflix that you love to watch, when you’re high with your dad?
